For guest sellers
The Tenth: Guest seller guide
The portal at thetenth.auction is where you enter your animals for The Tenth. Enter as many as you like until 26 November 2026 at 23:59. After that, until 29 January 2027 at 23:59, you can still correct their measurements and add, replace, caption and reorder their photos and video links. Then only your business details can change.

Before you start
Have these at hand. You can also start now and add the rest later.
- The email address your invitation came to. Only that address can sign in.
- A phone or a computer. The portal works on both.
- Your business details and logo. They appear in the catalogue with your lots. If you are your account's main user, also the details of the entity you sell under, its ID and banking details and a PDF of your logo for print if you have one.
- Your animals' details. Species, numbers, ages, measurements, pedigree, DNA results where you have them and pregnancy status.
- Photos and video links. Your best photos and the links to any videos already online.
Signing in the first time
There is no password. The first time, accepting your invitation signs you in, with no address or code to type.
- Open the invitation email from The Tenth and tap Accept invitation. The email comes from invitations@thetenth.auction. If it is not in your inbox, look for that address in your spam folder. If your business runs its own mail server, its spam folder may show only in webmail and not in Outlook or on your phone. Look there too, or ask whoever runs your mail to look and to allow *@thetenth.auction and *@clkmail.thetenth.auction.
- A box saying "Verify you are human" may appear. Tick it and wait a moment.
- Read the terms of use and the privacy notice, then accept them. If either changes later, the site asks everyone to read and accept the new version before going on.
- On the Welcome page, check your name. It is already filled in from your invitation. Correct it if you need to, or add your last name if it is missing, then confirm it.
Signing in again
From the second time on, the portal emails you a link, or a code from the same email, each time you sign in. Go to thetenth.auction, tap Sellers sign in and use your email address and a new link or code.
- You stay signed in on a phone or computer for up to seven days. After that, sign in again.
- A new phone or computer: When you sign in on one you have not used before, The Tenth emails you to say so. If it was not you, contact Tarryn.
- Too many wrong codes lock your sign-in for a while and The Tenth emails you to say so. Wait, then sign in again with a new link or code.
Your business details
Fill these in first, under Your details. The catalogue prints your business details and logo with your lots, but not the details of the entity you sell under.
- Business name, contact person, telephone numbers, email address and area.
- The entity you sell under: Its registered name, VAT number, postal and physical address and fax. None of them is required. The auction team uses them to link your lots to the right entity and may have filled in the registered name already: Check it.
- Your logo. The printed catalogue's guest sellers page carries it with your contact person and telephone numbers.
- Your logo for print: A PDF, best in vector form as your printer or designer sends it. It is kept exactly as you send it for the printed catalogue and is not shown on the site.
Where your business has no work telephone, fax, registered name, VAT number or postal address, tick Not available beside it. Until each detail is filled in or ticked, Your entries and Your details name the ones still open, the ID number and the banking details among them. None of them stops an entry being submitted, except the area.
Your account's main user can change them at any time and the auction team can also enter or correct them for you. Everyone else on the account can see them.
Your ID and banking details
Under Your details, the main user also enters the ID or passport number of the person your entity sells under and the bank account the auction pays you into. They are optional and for the auction's invoicing and settlement. The auction team can also enter or correct them for you.
- Only the main user and the auction team see them. Everyone else on your account sees your business details, but not these.
- Each number shows as its last four characters. To change one, type the new number in full. To keep it, leave its box empty.
- A change to your banking details is confirmed with you by telephone before any payment.
People on your account
Each account has one main user, usually the person Bona Bona invited. The main user can add up to nine other people, such as a manager or a buffalo expert. Each signs in with their own email address. To add someone, open People, fill in their name and email address and tap Add user: They receive an invitation from The Tenth. Everyone on your account sees, enters, changes and withdraws all of its entries. On your account, only the main user adds or removes people and changes your business details and logo. An email address belongs to one account, so someone who works for two breeders needs a different address for each. To remove someone, tap Remove beside their name: They lose access at once, the entries they worked on stay with your account and the history keeps their name. As main user you answer for everyone you add and for what they enter, so remove anyone who no longer acts for you. To change who your main user is, or to add more than ten people, contact Tarryn.
If you were added to an account
Your invitation comes from The Tenth, as everyone's does. After you accept, the Welcome page names the account you joined and who added you. You can enter and change all of that account's entries. The main user looks after its people and its business details.
Adding an entry
One entry is one group of animals of one species that you offer. Make a new entry for each group.
- Tap Add an entry.
- Choose the species and its Colour/variation from the suggestions or in your own words. The form then shows the fields for that species. Mitochondrial DNA is asked for sable and roan only.
- Fill in the numbers and the animals' details: Ages, measurements, pedigree and DNA results where you have them. The age categories are Young, Sub adult, Young adult and Adult.
- Choose the pregnancy status from its list and tick under Availability when the lot can go. If the boxes do not say it, type it under Date available in your own words, such as "Aug 2026, when in calf".
Two or more animals in one entry. When an entry holds two or more animals, males and females (calves at foot are not counted), each animal after the first gets its own Identity and DNA, Pedigree, Breeding and age and Measurements, with the same questions as the first. Every answer is optional. On a phone the form shows one animal at a time, as "Animal 2 of 3": Use Next animal and Previous animal. Lowering the count never deletes an animal's answers: The form still shows them and you remove an animal only with its own button, such as Remove animal 2 and its answers. While the count stays the same, an empty animal takes the removed one's place, so lower the count as well.
Type the animal's details as you would write them: They are saved as you type them. Where the printed catalogue uses capitals, its layout sets them, so there is no need to type in capitals.
Photos and video links
Open an entry and tap Add or change photos and video. Good photos sell animals, so add your best.
- Photos: From your phone or computer, including iPhone photos. Full quality is kept. Location data is removed on your device before the photo is sent.
- For print: A photo needs at least 2 500 pixels on its long side. Smaller ones are taken, but the page warns that they will print small. Most phone photos are well above this.
- Your photos: Add a caption, change the order or replace a photo at any time.
- Video links: Paste the link to a video that is already online.
Until new entries close on 26 November 2026 at 23:59 you can add, replace and remove photos and video links. After that, until updates end on 29 January 2027 at 23:59, you can still add and replace them, but not remove them.
Saving and submitting
An entry stays a draft until you submit it. Drafts are never published. Everyone on your account and the auction team can see them.
- Save as you go. Press Save and wait until the page says it is saved.
- If your signal drops, the page tries again by itself. If it still cannot confirm, it says so. Wait for signal and press Save again. A save is never counted twice.
- If someone else on your account, or the auction team, changed the entry while you had it open, the page says so, shows their change beside yours and keeps everything you typed. Check it and press Save again.
- Submit entry when the entry is complete. The auction team then reviews it.
What happens next. The team accepts each entry or not. Accepted entries become lots in the catalogue. An entry that is not accepted stays on your list and may still be accepted later. Once the catalogue is published, you see each lot's auction and lot number.
Changing or removing an entry
Animals change after you enter them. A cow calves, a bull is measured again. Keep your entries up to date.
- Before the team decides: Press Withdraw submission to take the entry back to draft, change it and submit it again.
- After the team decides: Change the entry where it is. The team sees what you changed.
- Remove this entry if you no longer want to sell it. A removed entry is never published.
- After 26 November 2026 at 23:59 you cannot add, submit, withdraw or remove entries, or change anything in them but the measurements. Until updates end on 29 January 2027 at 23:59 you can still correct each animal's measurements, with the date and age it was measured; add, replace, caption and reorder photos and video links; and change your logo and your details. After that you can only change your business details. For anything else, contact the team.
Changes made after the catalogue is printed still reach the online catalogue and the auction platform.
Changes by the auction team
The auction team may correct an entry, for example a count you gave them by phone. The entry then shows "Changed by the auction team" with each change and Your entries shows the day. You can change an answer back yourself.
When the portal closes for maintenance
Now and then the portal closes for a short while for maintenance. A banner says when and asks you to save your work before then; in the last minutes it says "Save your work now". While it is closed, the portal shows a page that says when it will be back and returns you to your entries by itself once it opens again. If you press Save while it is closed, nothing is lost: What you typed stays on the page and you save it once the portal is back. Everything you saved before it closed is safe.
